Eggs are good for breakfast, but PASTURED EGGS are better!
In May, 2010, Perry’s introduced Certified Naturally Grown eggs from Wood River Natural Foods in Hailey, Idaho. Pastured eggs have more of the good stuff (beta carotene, vitamin E) and less of the bad (cholesterol, saturated fat). Come in and taste the difference.
Make me a Mimosa
For Sunday brunch or a leisurely vacation breakfast, try a 12oz. carafe of fresh squeezed orange juice with a split of Korbel California Champagne for $7.00.
There are several delicious gluten free options for breakfast and lunch available daily:
1. Gluten free tortillas make excellent wraps for either breakfast or lunch.
2. Cowboy Tom’s Buckwheat Flapjacks, a locally grown product from Delco, Idaho. Many people think buckwheat is a cereal grain, but it is actually a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb & sorrel. It contains no protein glutens. Buckwheat has been credited with helping lower the risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Like fine coffee beans, Cowboy Tom's Flapjacks are prepared just before cooking in order to preserve freshness and flavor. They are light, fluffy, and a real treat that just happens to be good for you!
3. Chili and Lime Quinoa Salad
A signature salad at Perry’s, featuring Peruvian white and red quinoa tossed in a sweet chili and lime sauté with fresh spinach, carrot, onion, cilantro, naval orange, and avocado. Served on a bed of greens with a drizzle of balsamic berry glaze. This is great as is for a vegetarian meal or with grilled chicken, sautéed shrimp, or flat iron steak.
The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations has officially declared that the year 2013 be recognized as "The International Year of the Quinoa." Proposed by the government of Bolivia and receiving strong support from many Central and South American countries, quinoa has now been singled out by the FAO as a food with "high nutritive value," impressive biodiversity, and an important role to play in the achievement of food security worldwide.
